There’s a Spotify playlist to accompany the article, featuring a piece by each of the composers mentioned plus a few extras. We’ve also put together an article about 10 historical black composers from the 18th-21st centuries, including Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Florence Price and Julius Eastman (pictured). Before lockdown (hard to remember, granted, but we promise this time existed) we published a monthly events guide, recommending informal concerts and gigs in cool venues across the UK. As most events got cancelled, we transformed this into a monthly playlist so you can still get your monthly fix, even if from your sofa/bed/bath instead.
